Membership Structure and Cost

AAVT membership is structured across Executive, Technical and Associate categories, reflecting different levels of participation responsibility and influence within the Association. Following receipt of an application, eligibility and membership level are reviewed, with membership fees confirmed as part of the approval process.

Associate

Associate Membership is ideal for organisations seeking to stay connected with Australia’s national vertical transport industry body and demonstrate their engagement with the broader sector. Associate members benefit from access to the secure members’ area of the AAVT website, including selected industry updates, communications and insights. This category provides a valuable pathway to remain informed, visible and engaged with industry developments and AAVT activity.

Technical

Technical Membership enables member companies to nominate a suitably qualified representative to attend AAVT technical meetings (and sub-committees) and participate in discussions aligned with the Association’s aims and objectives. Technical members receive timely information on developments affecting the vertical transport industry in Australia and internationally.

While Technical members do not hold voting rights, they are permitted to use the AAVT corporate logo in accordance with branding guidelines.

Executive (>250 Employees)

Executive Membership provides full voting rights to the organisation and is intended for larger corporations with a significant operational footprint in the vertical transport sector (>250+ employees). Executive members may nominate an employee to participate in the AAVT Technical Committee, enabling direct contribution to technical discussion and industry outcomes. Authorised nominated representatives are also granted access to designated member-only areas of the AAVT website and resources.

What our members say

Southern Lifts has been a proud member of AAVT for the past four years, and the association has become an essential part of how we engage with and understand the Australian lift industry. AAVT plays a vital role in keeping members informed of technical updates, regulatory changes and evolving industry standards, particularly in an environment where compliance expectations and technologies continue to change. The technical bulletins, guidance material and access to shared industry knowledge have proven invaluable in supporting informed decision-making across design, installation, servicing and maintenance activities.

Terrence Kuzakov, Managing Director, Southern Lifts

As an AAVT Executive Member, TK Elevator values AAVT’s role in supporting a fair, compliant and forward-looking vertical transport industry. Member benefits include keeping up to date with VT industry changes / development; keeping on top of code and safety standard changes and providing input; ensure developments / changes do not favour individual suppliers; help ensure suppliers and products are compliant with local requirements to reduce risk and adding industry credibility in the eyes of the public and industry stakeholders as a whole.

Frank Schoenherr MSc, Engineering/Design Manager, TK Elevator

We place strong value on the AAVT, particularly as a smaller organisation that must remain current with ongoing industry changes, especially those relating to codes and compliance. The AAVT supports our business through regular technical meetings backed by a high level of industry expertise, as well as ongoing availability for guidance throughout the year.   “The AAVT greatly helps me stay up to date with important industry matters, which I then share across the Hamilton team to ensure we act proactively and provide accurate, compliant information to our customers at every level.”

Gavin Kent, Director, Hamilton Elevators NSW
